This explains what personal information MaxFence collects, why we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are

What we collect
- Your name, company name, email address, phone number and job title
- Delivery address and postcode
- Order and quote details, and anything you tell us in a message
- Trade account details, such as company number and VAT (Value Added Tax) number
- Basic technical data your browser sends when you visit the site
How we collect it
You give us most of this directly through our forms, cart, quote requests and trade account application. When you press send, our forms send your details to us securely and we keep a record of your enquiry.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To take, deliver and invoice orders and quotes (to carry out our contract with you)
- To assess trade account applications and take references (our legitimate interest in managing credit risk)
- To answer your questions and give support (our legitimate interest in running the business)
- To keep accounting and tax records (a legal obligation)
- To send marketing, only if you have agreed (your consent), which you can withdraw at any time
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to run your order: payment providers, our accountants and software suppliers, and, for trade accounts, credit reference agencies. With your consent, Google receives analytics and advertising measurement data. We do not sell your information. Deliveries are made on our own transport, so we do not pass your address to a courier for local orders.
How long we keep it
We keep order and invoice records for 6 years for tax and legal reasons. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are normally deleted within 2 years. We keep marketing details until you ask us to stop.
Cookies and similar technology
We use necessary cookies to run your cart, checkout and account. With your permission we also use Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies to understand how the site is used and to measure our ads. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Our cookie policy lists every cookie we use.
Keeping it safe
We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and limit access to people who need it.
Your rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) you can ask to see your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Email info@maxfence.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the bottom shows when it last changed.
